High Fructose Corn Syrup and Mercury

January 30, 2009

Wow, this one was an eye opener. I knew high fructose corn syrup was some evil stuff, but I had no idea just how bad it really is.

Folks, if you are consuming anything with this in it, I strongly urge you to stop. You are poisoning yourself, and that is NOT a figure of speech.

A client sent me this website. It has terrific historical photos, and what is neat about it is seeing this stuff in color. Gives it a whole different feel.

Update from Theresa

January 25, 2009

Hi everyone, Theresa here. I wanted to thank you all for your well wishes, emails, cards and gifts! Your friendship and support have meant the world to me. The surgery was a difficult one and while I wish the recovery were going faster, things are going well. I started back in the clinic this past week, which was a terrific milestone for me! I’m only seeing a few clients a week for now, but it’s great to be back and seeing many of you. I thank you again for all your support and encouragement and I look forward to seeing many of you again soon.

Help us create a sustainable USDA

January 24, 2009

I encourage you to visit the site for Food Democracy Now and help join those of us who want to encourage our new federal leadership to create a USDA that is sustainable, and not simply shilling for big agra-business.

My previous post on salmonella talks about how the US food supply has been contaminated. The problems are more widespread than the media is letting on, and whom are they blaming? Peanut butter? Really?!?

Let’s get serious about our food supply, folks.

I encourage you to visit this link and sign their petition.

Salmonella outbreaks

January 24, 2009

Can’t vouch for the veracity of this report or its suggestions, but it seems pretty reasonable.

Salmonella almost always comes from livestock and their waste. It’s very difficult to see how plant-based foods could develop widespread infection on their own.

Anyway, read this report and get yourself some Pepto to keep on hand in case this hits you.
