The Egoscue E-Cises from the book “The 4-Hour Body” by Tim Ferriss

If you haven’t heard of this book, I highly recommend it. It’s a great book that covers a variety of topics. You can use it to effectively lose fat, gain muscle, get stronger and faster, sleep better, have better sex, rehabilitate old injuries or prevent new ones. I first heard of the book because Tim writes about and recommends Egoscue, which is very cool and we’re grateful for him sharing what we do with the rest of the world. I’d heard great things about the book and decided to check it out for myself, and I’m impressed. The book is meant to be treated essentially as a buffet. You can read it cover to cover if you wish, but it’s designed to allow you to go to the section on the topic that most interests you, and then take what information you wish.

Now, in the book’s section on Egoscue, Tim provides what we call a “menu” of our exercises (what we call E-cises). We thought it would be helpful to create a video showing how to do each of these ecises properly. So Theresa, Stefani and I did exactly that. If you’ve checked the book out and were interested in doing the Egoscue routine from the book but wanted more clarification on how to do each ecise correctly, this video will walk you through each of the ecises in detail.

Also, bear in mind that this routine was created for a specific individual with specific postural, functional and symptomatic issues. Depending on what’s going on with you, it may be extremely helpful, or you may need something more specifically tailored to your individual situation. I also want to point out that even if you don’t live anywhere near a clinic, you can still get help. We do therapy by skype and it works beautifully. All you need is a computer with a webcam, a good Internet connection, and the free Skype software. Most people wonder just how effective such therapy can be, but I promise you, it is a GREAT way to get help. I just had a new client get started with me via Skype last Monday, and she lives in Cologne, Germany! No matter where you live, if you have issues you want to work on, Egoscue can find a way to help you.
